Other important roles

Commission on Judicial Performance consists of One (1) circuit court judge to be appointed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Mississippi upon the recommendation of the Governor; One (1) chancellor to be appointed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Mississippi upon the recommendation of the Lieutenant Governor; One (1) county court judge to be appointed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Mississippi upon the recommendation of the Speaker of the House; One (1) justice court judge to be appointed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Mississippi; One (1) practicing attorney to be appointed by the Chief Justice upon the recommendation of the Governing Board of The Mississippi Bar; and Two (2) lay persons who shall not be residents of the same Supreme Court District to be appointed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Mississippi charged to receive, investigate and process allegations of judicial misconduct and disability and, where appropriate, recommend judicial discipline to the Mississippi Supreme Court, in accordance with Section 177A of the Mississippi Constitution. 

Jackson Municipal Airport Authority manages the major air gate in the state - The Jackson-Evers International Airport. This five-member Board of Commissioners is appointed by the Mayor of the City of Jackson and confirmed by the Jackson City Council. The Vision of JMAA and its employees is to provide exemplary transportation services and facilities at Jackson-Evers International Airport and Hawkins Field, and thereby be a catalyst for community and economic development. The Mission of JMAA is to operate Jackson-Evers International Airport and Hawkins Field, and thereby connect its patrons to the worldwide intermodal transportation network.
